Our visit to Hawkshead

We enjoyed a stroll around Hawkshead which is where William Wordsworth the famous poet who wrote Daffodils, attended school.
It is a really lovely village with lots of fine character. We visited St Michael 's Church and Paul took photos in the church where there are beautiful stained glass windows. I have transferred these photos from my bridge camera to my Tablet because that is the only way I can post my blip collage. There is a fantastic gift shop near the car park where I bought a humorous sheep themed coaster. It costs 50p to use the public toilet.
There are smart looking pubs and a vegetarian eatery.
We bought an expensive treat, chocolate fudge bars, ginger and one of dark chocolate mint, and cherries covered in chocolate. These are to share with my daughter Maria and partner Ben who are joining us for the second part of our holiday.
After Hawkshead, we drove to Esthwaite Lake side cafe. They do delicious snacks and a variety of hot drinks. I had a cheese and red onion pannini with lemon and ginger Twinnings herbal tea. Paul had a barm cake with bacon and black pudding washed down with Earl Grey tea.
Afterwards we did some shopping at Morrisons, our nearest supermarket and a decent size one.
Thank you for visiting my site and for recent kind comments.
