Water water everywhere!

After the scary damage of the night before Christmas Eve we have been worried about water and wind damage. This is the drain (which is a soakaway drain) just outside the back door which has been full to the very top. Over the last few days we have vacuumed 19 buckets of water out of it... maybe 15 litres or more per bucket! Oh my! It just keeps filling up!

There has been further damage since Christmas Eve too - the porch round the front door has developed cracks too! Update on the other damage is that we have contacted our insurance company to see if they'll cover it... they might... an assessor will decide for certain. The fallen fences are definitely not covered so we have arranged for them to be replaced... starting this weekend.

Thankfully we have not been flooded inside the house, like so many others around the country... our thoughts are with those who have.
