Backblipped.

Phoned the NHS 111 number early this morning as my throat got worse and I developed a fever overnight. They referred me on to the emergency doctor at our local hospital who rang me straight away, asked a few questions and asked to see me as soon as possible.

I have been diagnosed with severe tonsillitis and have had a swab taken to check for scarlet fever. They dispensed penicillin there and then (no need to go to a chemist).

Very impressed by the service. From the first call to getting home with tablets in hand it was just 90 minutes.

Spent the rest of the day with my fever in bed. Advised to take at least 2 days off work. This will be a great (!) way to spend my birthday tomorrow!
