One Street 17

When I popped into the Beauticians last week to have my wedding 'nails' removed I noticed men working on the signage on our local pub. This is just one of many changes that have taken place over the last 8 months since the new owners took over.

The main bar area has been painted and there is a new kitchen with regularly updted menus for,the dining area; new windows in all the rooms; the old 'tap'/snooker room has become a sports bar with large screen TV; new toilets and the outdoor area has been cleared (used to be for ducks and chickens) and has enjoyed outdoor seating this summer with an enclosed outdoor bar, which was in full use during last weekend's horticultural show and is rumoured to be there to use in conjunction with a marquee for events and functions.

The pub and the beautician's were the main feature of my second 'one street' last December blip featuring Long Lane which dissects our village as the main thoroughfare.

Lots of change but we will still be going early this evening for our traditional '3 and go' on a Wednesday with Corinthian Column and her husband R, which we have been doing now for a number of years!
