Raasay

Bade farewell to Angela this morning, then the four of us piled into Mick's car and headed for Raasay, hopefully to connect with Golden Eagle while having an explore for new routes. First stop though was at the Borodale House Hotel, which has been taken over by the Raasay Outdoor Centre while Raasay House is being refurbished / rebuilt or at least will be once new contractors can be found to take over from the bankrupt ones. It was good to see the centre so busy during these times and good to catch up with Lyn too.

We headed off on our explore down a reasonable if at times disappearing path, but with no scary descents Mrs L managed fine. We scanned the cliffs for eagles, but to no avail. Meanwhile Mick and Simon had found themselves an atmospheric abseil (well Mick had, Simon was less convinced) and I was called upon to photograph the boys playing - hope you like the results - yes the rock was that colour and yes the sea was that colour. Mrs L headed back to the car and let us get on with it, which was a shame as she missed various glimpses of a Golden Eagle soaring above the cliffs above.

Back at the hotel we were joined again by Lyn for a fine meal, before the four of us caught the last ferry back to Skye.
