One out of two
Heading up to Bridlington for an RSPB organised Shearwater and Skua Cruise.
We planned a route to take in a couple of rarities that had been hanging around for a couple of weeks and kept our fingers crossed that they'd still be there.
First stop was Freiston Shore for a Long-billed Dowitcher, no luck here though, it had last been seen on Tuesday. Second stop was Covenham Reservoir and as you can see from the above photo it's a large body of water however having walked almost half way round it RCB finally made contact with the American Black Tern and got rather a nice photo - even though he says it himself.
