Birdwatching with the Chef
Unfortunately with the heavy rain in Edinburgh and the state of Rancidand's downpipes he and Cancarrier departed early this morning. You can read about it in Cancarrier's version & Rancidand's version. Meanwhile back on Skye with a meal out planned for tonight Chef John could afford to have a day off so while Mick, Kathy & Simon headed off route cleaning we took him off for a days birdwatching.
A Golden Eagle was a nice start to the day and eventually after a bit driving round we headed back to Neist Lighthouse once again. Here we had a nice Rock Pipit and all the usual seabirds plus Black Guillemot, Bonxie and Meadow Pipit. Check out RCB's Blip for a Oystercatcher with chick.
The evenings meal was at the Cuillin Hills hotel and very nice it was too, but to be quite honest Chef John had set a pretty high standard this week and the Cuillin Hills didn't quite match it.
