Tewinbury

Arranged to meet up with Alan at Tewinbury tomorrow for a comparison of his Canon 7D & 400mm lens against my 550D & Sigma 500mm. So with that in mind decided to pay Tewinbury a visit today to see what was around.

Very pleased to find the water levels at "wader level", lots of exposed mud. A couple of Green Sandpipers and a the above Kingfisher that hung around for at least twenty minutes putting on a fine show of fishing in the stream that meanders through the reeds and mud. It also demonstrated some unusual behaviour in leaving at least three of the fish it caught impaled on its perching posts.
