LEAF SWIMMING POOL

No I don't know why, but there surely must be a reason for this circular dip in the cobblestones. It is at the top of a small, narrow flight of steps alongside a road bridge over the canal. Maybe there used to be some pulling mechanism there for the canal barges whilst the horse went over the top, though I am just guessing.

Anyway,this morning I took my usual route past the Freddie Trueman statue to try again at a blip of the bridge stonework. I have been trying this for some time now, which is when I got noticed by the barge man with the Spaniel yesterday. But the light is dimming day by day. At this rate it may end up as a Spring blip.
