Alfred the Kingfisher

A kiwi yesterday and a kingfisher today. I've also seen a white heron and three red tailed black cockatoo's.

I was in the pool before breakfast this morning, and this little guy arrived on the fence. Apparently, he has been arriving for a swim daily but has been missing for about a week. Wasn't that good of him to return for a photo-shoot :)

He appears to be a bit ruffled and feathers are missing - is it the moulting season Paladian? And is this a juvenile Kingfisher? We have been looking in the wildlife book the kids have. He is very tame and I was able to get within a metre of him.

I am about to head out for another dip, it is very hot. We did some retail therapy this morning while Aidan was at the chiropractor then he went to work for a bit. (The joys of being your own boss) We took him out for lunch at a new outfit overlooking the Marina, oh so nice enjoying the view with the big windows opened, just enough breeze to make the heat bearable. Bliss.

I've managed to find them on the Location Map too, they don't actually live in Townsville city but at Deeragun :)
