And the winner is...

Hi folks, Joe here, with some very exciting news - we've just heard that Blipfoto has been nominated for a 2009 Scottish BAFTA Award. (If you don't know what the Baftas are, think 'British Oscars'.)

Blip is such a remarkable thing I probably shouldn't be surprised, but to think that taking an unremarkable picture on an unremarkable day five years ago would lead here really is quite incredible. I don't mind admitting I squealed like a girl when I found out.

Of course, this nomination isn't for me or anyone else at Blipcentral - it's for the whole community, something many thousands of people have played a part in. To get this far in such a prestigious competition is a real honour, and we should all be pretty darn pleased with ourselves to have achieved this level of recognition. Big pats on the back all round.

The awards themselves are on 8 November, which only leaves three nervous weeks. We'll be using that time to tell everyone we're Bafta nominees - I hope you'll do the same!
