Life on the Good Intent

Wrapping

Tomorrow my colleague P retires after 40 years in the NHS. We have bought him an iPad and are having afternoon tea to present him with his gifts.
Nothing from the trust - not even a few sandwiches to mark the occasion and say thank you.
I know we are public servants but when MPs have heavily subsidised lives and BBC high heid yins get six figure golden handshakes, it is shameful that a man who has saved lives working in blood transfusion and leukaemia diagnosis gets no recognition from the NHS.
We, the small people, the back room faceless lab rats, we know.
Enjoy your retirement P.
