Thoughtful moment
I'm still not fully back to normal after the time in Zürich, but at least the weather has picked up again and it was pleasant to spend a couple of hours around the city this afternoon. Merrion Square, Stephen's Green and Grafton street were all abuzz with activity or laziness, and it all rubbed off on me a bit, leaving me at times with a contented smile on my face. Early in the wandering I once again hit frustration high with my useless spare camera battery pack (Belkin Power -- don't touch them). It's already caught me out several times, but this time was just too much, so I got myself a Canon backup to replace it. I didn't think I'd find anywhere which would be able to give me one ready charged, but the guy behind the counter in Conn's Cameras couldn't have been nicer or more helpful, and instantly said 'No problem, I'll give you one from a demo camera. It won't be fully charged, but it'll have enough in it to keep you going for a while.' Excellent. I'll go there again. (The recurring problem with the Belkin was that it (a) seemed to reach full charge too quickly when put in the charger, (b) often didn't display as being fully charged when put into the camera, and (c) lost its charge far too quickly once in the camera.)
For some reason I took a notion to try some candid shots, especially long Grafton Street which was especially abuzz. I got some others which were passable, like this living sculpture guy, a happy flowerseller and pal, and this close encounter between a busker (I heard several people mutter 'Yes, but what's he doing, exactly) and a fascinated camera wielder. The actual blip is from the park in Merrion Square.
I'm in a bit of a rush right now. I have two days to back-blip, and will do that later.
EDIT: Back-blipping is now done, for Saturday and Sunday.
