YADP=Yet Another Dublin Pub. Also, yet another desperation blip.

Today's music session was in Ballsbridge/Merrion, so we went across to the Merrion Inn afterwards. This is one of Dublin's long-established establishments. Like so many others, it's fallen on hard times recently, and is nowhere near as busy as it used to be. It's a favourite haunt of the rugby crowd, and still attracts them in decent numbers when there's a match on. It also has a good reputation when it comes to food, and at least some of the music gang have a bite to eat whenever we drop in.

The music session was devoted to Puccini today, since Monday is the 150th Anniversary of his birth. After our dose of opera (and some other, lesser-known, non-operatic, Puccini), the final thirty minutes was all Christmassy. Host Dermot treated us to wine and nibblies, and we left well satisfied.
