New Year's Eve in Greystones

We followed tradition and rang in the new year with our Bray friends Dave and Alan. This year, for a change, we ate out, opting for Mrs Robinson's Kitchen in Greystones.

We had a grand time and really enjoyed ourselves. The restaurant was busy when we got there for our 8:00 pm booking, but emptied out considerably while we were there. The waiter/manager was really pleasant and easily managed to persuade me to start my meal with Oysters and Bloody Mary sauce. Two of us us had steak for main course, I had Cajun Seared Salmon (not so good; the salmon's delicate taste was overpowered by the Cajunness); and as far as I remember, the fourth main was Fritto Misto. The food wasn't great, but the atmosphere was perfect.

We hopped in a taxi and were back in Bray in time to watch Madness lead up to the New Year countdown at College Green. After that we settled down to a few beers and a few games of charades. Dave and I did our best, but Carl and Alan ended up triumphant. How it got to be almost 4:00 am I have no idea, but it was well into 2014 by the time beds were fallen into.

Thanks for a great night, lads.
