HOW much???

In the 17th century parts of the world went mad over tulips ...

"Tulip mania (or tulipomania) was an extraordinary period in Dutch history (around 1620 to 1637) when speculation in tulip bulbs went wild. The prices went up to astronomical levels (up to the equivalent of $US2 million per bulb!) before the bubble burst in February 1637."

We haven't gone quite that mad over Snowdrops with the record standing at under £400.

Still and all, another of my idiotsyncrasies is an ability to be a sucker for the different: and paid (for me) some silly prices.
Two notable record being 5 or 10 quid for a single leaf sticking out of a pot, or a foot high dry twig.
The former became 1sq mtr of Sanguinaria Canadensis, the latter took over the back garden as Romneya coulteri and looked like this.
Not all that many years ago it came to my notice that all Snowdrops were not merely "Single" and "Double". Some had green on the outer petals, some have scents, some have entirely different leaves, etc.
This little thing looks hardly old enough to be weaned, but is supposed to be yellow.
Tell you better next year.
Hope it is a tenner well spent.

For "Lo these many moons" I've been hankering after some yellow ones.
