Turn, Turn, Turn.

It had to come sooner or later. My first blip from work.
Here is my collegue Jon working on his old treadle lathe, making a spike to fit to a bass clarinet, so that it can be rested on the floor rather than the player having to support the instrument's entire weight.
Jon is a craftsman of the old school, who has a wealth of knowledge of woodwind instruments, & in fact is a skilled woodworker generally. He's pretty good at fixing bicycles too!
Sadly, skills like Jon's are being lost because doing things properly can be expensive, & these days people seem to want a quick fix done on the cheap!
