YorkU Snow Globe I
York University had it's 50th anniversary in 2009-10. This snow globe is one of the items that were made in celebration. The bookstore still had some - discounted to only $2.95 from an original $14.99 (what were they thinking?). I thought I might start an occasional series of shots with this snow globe in it. Maybe send it (or a duplicate) on a world tour with travelers. We do that with a little foam penguin now, but it's getting tattered. The trinket shows Murray G. Ross, our first president at his desk in the field where the Ross building in the background now stands. The tent-like structure is the Scott Religious Centre, a multi-faith place of prayer and meditation.
The art installation (the panels tip with the wind) at left has a plaque that reads:
