Fast Rescue
A beautiful morning, the Clyde flat calm for the 9.45 sailing.
On board entertainment courtesy of a Drill for the ferry's Fast Rescue Craft. Lots of cameras at the ready to photograph ... I'm thinking, should I shout "Is anyone else a blipper???" The crew and craft are lowered on a wire into the water and then take off in zig zags around , in front, to port, to starboard and keep this up for about twenty minutes while we continue over the Clyde. All the passengers are of the view that the crew are having great fun on this glorious morning as well as working through an important drill which we hope never needs to be put into action for real.
Fab start to this stay on Arran. Of course, we hadn't seen the jungle that is our garden by that point !!!!
The craft and the Caledonian Isles were about twenty minutes out of Ardrossan when the drill started (It's a 55minute crossing). In the background you can see The Cock of Arran, at the north end of the island.
