Black Raspberries

I spent most of this week in a writiers' workshop. I produced two pieces and ideas for a dozen more. One was an informal memoir of my childhood in Maine. One scene from this memoir focused on beery picking. As a visual artist my mind shifted quickly to illustration and how the subject would be treated.

The day after the workshop I took a friend for a walk through my nature club. He is a berry enthusiast and found a thicket of berries that I had ignored in favor of the tanagers, buntings and catbirds that lived above.
