Tub-thumping!

The Dhol Foundation at Osterley Park. Fantastic drumming mixed with electronic music & bhangra.
I looked them up when I got home & discovered Johnny Kalsi (looking cool here, in the shades) is a bit of a star. He's played with (deep breath) Imagined Village, Afro-Celt Soundsystem, Transglobal Underground, Page & Plant, Peter Gabriel, Avril Lavingne &, er, Cliff Richard! He's also appeared on soundtracks for films including Tomorrow Never Dies, Gangs of New York, & The Incredible Hulk.
He started the Dhol Foundation as a school to teach the playing of this style of Punjabi drum, but the band have now released four albums in their own right & played gigs around the world.
To cap their career they have now received the Official Goatee Seal of Approval. They must feel so proud!
