ASOPOMO Nineteen
Paphiopedilum Lynleigh Koopowitz is a hybrid between delenatii and malipoense. It produces large flowers up to 5" across with a light pink coloring and a overlay of dark purple spots on the petals. It has the fragrance of raspberries." Says the ad. And that red "enameled" lip back is a killer. If I were a bee I would certainly fall for it! By the way, those pouches are not for trapping, killing and eating insects but rather are a pollinator "labyrinth". Once the insect flies into the pouch the only way it can go out is to go up behind
the "enameled" area through a crawl space that contains the pollen sacks. Voila, pollen transference.
Well, duh - if any of my devoted orchid fans looked at this page earlier, I indicated that this was Paphiopedilum Ho Chi Minh. My bad! I should have known by the pointed petals and size that it wasn't a Ho, but rather a Leigh. Anyway it is wonderful. It is still softly fuzzy.
