The Essence of Holiday...
Is today's blip....my boy's smiling face. :))
A has so many physical difficulties as a result of his cerebral palsy and most of his time on dry land is spent sitting in highly supportive chairs / wheelchair that keep him secure and safe, but ultimitely restrained. When he's in the pool he has complete freedom of movement and I don't have to tell you how much he loves it! Just look at that grin!!!
This is the last dook of the holiday, which in one sense is quite sad but for A it's not so bad because he's also looking forward to going home. He looks forward so much to coming on holiday (to the point of making himself almost sick with excitement!) but he's always happy to go home to his own space, his own bedroom and his own telly! :))
We were all up quite sharp this morning wanting to make the most of our final day. Packing didn't take long then we had lunch and a quick run along to Aubeterre to have toffee apple crepes, sitting on the little sun terrace overlooking the valley and roof tops below. I almost blipped that view but in the end couldn't resist A's grin.
Bought a couple of souvenirs (a glass tile with a sunflower on it, which will sit against my new kitchen window and some perfumed soaps) Just having a pre-dinner G&T then we will have our final BBQ followed by a a final hour sitting outside in the evening sunshine, before an early night. Trying not to think about tomorrow's 5am rise and the long drive back to Zeebrugge for the ferry!
This has been a most wonderful and much needed holiday and I am so happy it has been blipped. We can enjoy the memories for a long time to come.
We have been coming to France for many years and every year we love it more. It never disappoints.
Vive la France! :))
Avoir un bon week-end mes amis xxx
