Day Nine: Another Rural Retreat

Half-way through the holiday and we moved onto the second Gite, this time in Northern France just a short wlk from Belgium. We have stayed at this Gite before and were pleasantly surprised to see our entry was still in the visitors book from seven years ago and the owners still remembered us. Friendly and inforative as always they greeted us with a (chilled and large) bottle of the local beer.

The evening was spent with a walk to Belgium (not as far as it sounds) and our first visit to a war cemetery which, despite the rather sombre sound, is a holiday activity we all look forward to.
