Walking to the Beat

I had a panicky text message from my friend Helle today. We have entered a Heelwork To Music competition next weekend and she could not get the choreography for her new routine to work. She could not move properly to the beat of the music and she could not get the musical interpretation through as she wanted.

I thought the only way to get her panic to settle was to meet up with her and see what it was she was worried about.

So we met after work and after 1½ hours intense listening to music, counting beats, walking to the beat and practising over and over again, we got it just as we had imagined it when we choreographed.

Then it was time to test it with the dog, but the dog she is doing the routine with, is very young - it is Hero's sister Jazz and she is just a year old, so we did not want to confuse her with a routine that Helle was hardly able to remember. Helle borrowed good old Whisper and performed the routine with him a couple of times to make sure she knew what to do when. Whisper is 11 years old and very experienced. He does not get confused easily :-).

So this is Helle and Whisper performing to Sergei Prokofiev's Dance Of the Knights.
