my heroes

So, today we went to support our very good friends Mouse and Cat as they finished the adidas Thunder Run. They like running long distances and apparently mere marathons aren't enough of a challenge for them, so they put their names down for the Thunder Run - you run either individually or in teams (2, 5 or 8) for 24 hours round a 10km course, and the winners are the teams who have run furthest in the time.

They set off yesterday at noon and finished today at noon (they were allowed to complete the 10km lap they were on, but not allowed to start any more laps after noon today). And Mouse and Cat had run 22 laps by the time they finished. That's 220km in 24 hours between two people. Mad. but utterly impressive. And also, good enough for them to come third in the mixed pairs section, so they not only got the medals they're wearing proudly here, but they also got a trophy each and a rather swanky adidas wind-stopper running top - very smart indeed!

I think they're my heroes for the week.
