West Coast magic

TeeJay and I headed west today in search of some wetlands. We ended up on the beach in Westport which is where I took this shot of some lovely driftwood. Beforehand we spotted a white heron (which I have never seen before) as well as grey heron and white headed heron. TeeJay murdered a weka and we saw some baby ones too :-) not related so hopefully not orphans :-)
Finished off with a fabulous and I mean FABULOUS late lunch at the Town House restaurant in Westport. The owner of which used to lease and run the Bay House restaurant just down the road near Cape Foulwind- alas the lease was up and wasn't renewed so they bought/leased in town. It has a lovely ambience and excellent food. The steak was to die for and the lemon tart for pud was pretty darn near perfect too. TeeJay might tell you about her ginger icecream.
