Flutter by Butterfly

Another backyward blip.

We had several large butterflies of different colors fluttering around today while the kids were playing on the deck in the late afternoon...

None would stay long... they would either fly away on sight me lurking camera in hand or they would visit a flower and then fly off on their circuit again to return later. Not keen to stay still or model, they fly away at the sight of a lens raising to shoot. Several were quite large. I would estimate the wingspan of this one to about 4-5 inches. I dont know how large they can get... perhaps I'll look it up later.
