Wholeness

Day four: you may be hangin' by a thread

So, today was not as good of a day. It was hard and not a lot of fun. I am tired.

But, in trying to be whole and figure this all out, I did something good for me, even though I didn't really want to do it: I ran.

I got on my treadmill and the first song that popped up in my playlist was "State of the Art" by RCPM. This is my favorite band and this song had become my anthem. It made me smile and start my run on a good note. I jumped off to snap a shot of the iPod and treadmill, and then kept on running for 34 more minutes.

I know that this is not a great shot, but it is important...keep on going...keep trying...be kind to yourself and be good to yourself. I think that this is part of my journey to wholeness.

Here are the lyrics to the song:

"State of the Art" by Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers

Had I not known the darkness
I could not love the light
Were it not for gravity there would be no flight
Had I not lost the path, I would never found my way
Equal parts my heart I gave to bloom and to decay

With a rattle and a grind I find that I'm back at my favorite part
I may not be your kind if your kind is faint or heart
When the world is sick and tired and it begs you to fall apart
You may be hanging by a thread but now you're state of the art

I call upon my demons as I call upon my saints
I lend an equal ear to each and I suffer no complaints
When the furies be your ushers and the shadows be your guide
The best way out of hell is through the other side

With a rattle and a grind I find that I'm back at my favorite part
I may not be your kind if your kind is faint or heart
When the world is sick and tired and it begs you to fall apart
You may be hanging by a thread but now we're state of the art

With a rumble and a grind I find that I'm back at my favorite part
Well, I may not be your kind if your kind is faint or heart
When the world is sick and tired and it's begging you to fall apart
You're going to be hanging by a thread, but now you're state of the art
Yeah, you're hanging by a thread but now you're state of the art
Yeah, you're hanging by a thread but now you're state of the art
