Lianne La Havas at the Old Queen's Head, Islington
Last night I had the privilege of hearing new artist Lianne La Havas play live at The Old Queen's Head in Islington. A magnificent bar with a beautiful french renaissance and shabby Chic feel.
Lianne La Havas has just returned from a successful writing trip in New York City. Residing in the beautiful brown stone houses of Brooklyn, creativity has flowed and she has returned confidently to UK shores to share some of these new songs.
Lianne played some of her older "New" songs initially. One of my favourite is a duet with the huge talent that is Marques Toliver. I first saw him on my favourite Live Music show - Later with Jools. A new talent to be watched.
Lianne and Marques sung out Forget with wonderful soaring harmonies.
The other special guest that came on stage is new artist Willy Mason.
Lianne has written a few songs together with Willy and the song that they sung will be the single on the new E.P. out in the autumn. From the sounds of the new material, this will be a huge success.
Sometimes you know you are present at a very special moment in time, with very special people giving birth to new creativity, changing forever how things will be. Last night was one of those moments.
