People on a Bridge

The Sculpture

This is the sculpture positioned near the entry drive to our department. It is carved out of marble, and it is intriguing, for lack of a better word.

It sits on a well-crafted and well-proportioned black cube of a pedestal. Together, they look quite handsome.

Alas, one never sees the sculpture on the pedestal, as some well-intentioned individual decided to soften the look (just guessing here), by planting roses around the base. Don't get me wrong, these are good looking roses. However, it this critic's mind, their placement was a mistake of enormous proportions.

This view was quite fun, so I am sharing. I promise to let you see the mistake of a view (sculpture, no pedestal, and roses) at some later date. It was too hot today for an extensive photo shoot.
