Double Rainbow

This might have been the most magical moment I've experienced for years.

I had gone out, camera in hand, because the evening light was nice and there was a little time before dinner would be ready. As I headed down to the shore of the loch, I noticed there was the beginnings of a rainbow.

I took pictures, lots of them, of the shoreline, the sheep, a rock I'd thought for a moment was an otter, and then I realised the rainbow was spreading. I scrambled back up the hill and as I did so the rainbow grew and the sky darkened behind, bringing the vivid colours into sharper focus. As my holiday companions came out of the croft shrieking in delight, the second rainbow appeared.

It was truly amazing and I haven't come close to doing it justice.
