My mum at Peterhof
My family (except sweetdustybones and co.) have come to stay. We took an overnight train up to St. Petersburg, and spent today at Peterhof, Peter the Great's summer palace. It was bombed by the Soviets during the war, after Hitler got control of it and decided he wanted to throw a party there. But it has been restored to all its former glory, including enormous gardens scattered with mini-mansions and eccentric fountains, and views over the Neva from the top of this mound.
