Looking across Craven Moor towards Barden Fell and Grassington
Today has passed in something of a blur. I had work to do but I decided to blow it off and recharge the batteries instead. I enjoyed catching up with quite a few people here today, but the time just disappears when you start browsing journals. I know there are a few wonderfully loyal followers and some new subscribers I haven't got around to yet. That seems a little rude, but - with a busy week of programming ahead - I needed to spend some time away from the computer today.
I managed to fit in a decent bike ride where I grabbed my blip for the day. This shot was taken from near Greenhow looking over Craven Moor towards Grassington. As you crest the hill you are suddenly presented with this incredibly dramatic view - especially so tonight with the sun breaking through the clouds.
The boys have just signed us up for "Love Film" so we can start catching up with new films we have missed, plus some classics. No.1 son was keen to watch "The Shawshank Redemption" and it occurred to me that I had somehow missed seeing this myself over the years. Well, we thoroughly enjoyed it. An extraordinary piece of story-telling and film-making. As one reviewer so aptly expressed it, "If you don't love Shawshank, chances are you're beyond redemption."
It's meant that I'm rather late blipping, technically back-blipping indeed! I don't necessarily think I've gone into a black and white phase (although that may be the case), but this once again seemed to work more dramatically in monochrome. And I really wanted to express the drama of this wild expanse of moor with Barden Fell in the distance. It's one of my very favourite locations.
Finally, chanced upon a new journal today which I found truly fascinating. I really don't have the time to take on any more subscriptions but this one I couldn't resist. So take a look at Martin Scales
