Wind fall

Who came up with that crap saying. These are indeed wind falls, however rather than money coming in , it's money going out. It howled here last night and this morning I estimate 10 to 20 % of the crop is on the floor.

If you wanted to be a full time avo grower you'd have to have a fairly decent sized block, then you'd be hiring people or contract managing and you'd be concerned about the no end of vagaries that will come what may. Could be a freeze, I heard of an orchard that lost 80 % of it's fruit a few weeks back, the wind, truth be told what you see here probably happens most years, and the Whangarei growers had a major blow just before harvest 3 years in a row Nothing to what the kiwifruit growers are dealing with,thinking they can kill a bacteria. So kind of good having another couple of jobs , the avos will do what they will do. And we shall continue to enjoy them.
