Cape Town, South Africa Trip Backblip:

Still churning away on these photos from a trip I went on over two weeks ago.

This photo made me stop in my tracks. It was taken while we were staying in Simon's Town, and as we were far enough away from Cape Town I wanted to get some nice long exposures of the night sky. It came out fairly dark, so I processed the RAW image n Capture NX to bring out some more detail.

Maybe I'm completely wrong, but when I saw what looked to be part of the Milky Way just above the mountain, I was floored.

Is it just digital noise from all of the processing in the software, or is it real?

If it's real, then my happiness is beyond words.
