The Long and Winding Road
The long and winding road
That leads to your door
Will never disappear...
~Paul McCartney
I posted my blip late last night if you want to take a peek at the sunset.
Today was the long and winding road up to Madera Canyon through the beautiful Coronado National Forest. Autumn hasn't hit these trees yet. I hope it doesn't just bypass them and freeze the leaves in place.
This National Forest is awesome.
BIG
To have this within fifteen miles from my desert town is a blessing. (Madera Canyon is one of the world's most popular birding sites, too.)
I pulled a D'OH! though. I got almost to the Canyon, which was about four more miles yet to go when I realized I might not have enough gas for the return trip. So shortly after I took this shot, I had to make a U-turn and return home.
I'll be more prepared in the future.
Winter is descending soon upon Green Valley. After today's high of 72F and the next three days in the mid-70's, beginning December 1 there isn't a seventy degree day in sight :-/
The snowbirds will still be wearing their shorts and going to the pool. I'll start to get pretty cold once it hits fifty-nine. I think it's a mental thing.
