My Magic Kingdom

A Burst of New Life

I have had an exhausting week and will be back here tomorrow to do the write-ups of the last three days. Only my photos have been loaded.

I will also spend some time catching-up on everybody's journals over the weekend.

Its Saturday morning now and I am finally able to catch-up with Blip!

My agapanthus photo is inspired by two excellent blippers who are way more talented than myself. Firstly, I recently saw one of chiaroscuros photos and realised that I had not appreciated the beauty of this flower in its budding form. Then one morning while eating my breakfast the row of Agapanthus that we have along the swimming pool wall caught my eye as the early morning rays of sun just touched the tips of them. I grabbed my camera and took lots of shots as I realised how magnificent the lighting looked in the photos. I then picked an excellent photo to use for my blip. Of course being such a busy week I had to blip more important things. Finally this morning as I grabbed my bags to rush out the door I noticed the sun again highlighting the tips of the flowers. With bags in hand I pulled out my camera and started shooting. Of course my earlier bud had now fully opened and I had to find a new one. And then I remembered shellyds water droplets and I quickly dipped my hand into the swimming pool and sprinkled some drops onto the bud. Wow, I surprised myself!

I hope that I have illustrated that it is possible to pause and capture a magical moment even at the busiest of times! There is always a little magic to be found in every day and I hope to always find the time to be grateful and to never take what I have around me for granted.

The last day of term finally arrived. I madly completed the final newsletter. Printed, folded and delivered to each class in the nick of time!

The school closed early and the staff were able to leave by 12pm to attend our staff lunch. We were treated to a wonderful lunch (I chose the calamari) on the deck of Squires restaurant. The staff are an awesome group of people and we all enjoy each other's company. We had a fun gift-swopping game and just relaxed for a change. No bell signaling the end of break or duties to rush to, no children demanding our attention, just a peaceful afternoon to end off a very busy year!
