Baby Ella with Stefania

Ella is visiting her Brazilian family for the first time. She's six months old and just completed a journey that had her on three airplanes, including one day time leg from New York City to Rio de Janeiro. She was great on the plane--was walked all over the plane by one of the flight attendants and barely cried. Her older sister Tuira helped a lot--calming her down and hanging out with her when she got fussy. Since then it's been a week of more firsts... First birthday party, first home-made food (a puree of squash and potatoes), first time flipping herself over from back to front and back again, and of course first time meeting a host of relatives including her great-grandmother, her bis-avo! It's been a wonderful week... This was a photo taken right before her cousin Stefania gave her a bath.
