Weird brickworks in Lyme Park

Off for the Christmas walk organised with great efficiency and planning by father-in-law. Started near the canal, with lots to see then criss-crossed Lyme Park to a great pub for lunch (Boars Head in Disley), and back in near darkness to cars.

This weird brick structure was in a dip between two hills; no idea what it was for.
