Mr Swinney & the Saltire

Sometimes pictures declare themselves. This is timed at 6.08. Cabinet had decided on the preferred date for the Referendum and the First Minister was telling the media. We were all waiting for another meeting to start.

Almost without thinking I put the saltire on my phone ( from Blipfoto's Scotland the World Over App) , handed it to John and took the picture.

It seemed the right thing to record such a historic moment , particularly after 38 years in the SNP. And to do it alongside someone with whom I have worked on the cause for a quarter of a century, through good times and bad!

Lots more work to do over the next two and a half years tho!
