The Dome - Nottingham Council House
after work tonight, went to catch the tram in the Old Market Square. the council house is the centre piece of the city, and looks lovely lit up at night, in changing shades of pink, purple and blue. decided to miss a tram and take a walk into the Exchange Arcade, which lies under the Dome. Took this picture of the Dome, more or less directly centred (the thin black line you see is some kind of wire across the roof). The Dome has four painted murals which you can see from here, they are: the Danes capturing Nottingham; William the Conqueror ordering the building of Nottingham Castle in 1068; King Charles I raising his standard at the start of the Civil War, and of course, Robin Hood and his Merry Men!
