200th Blip

Yes my 200th blip has arrived. In fact it's technically my 202nd as I have 2 still to do for September but we'll ignore that for now.

Wasn't sure what I was going to blip today and then it suddenly came to me. The church which I attend is celebrating the 200th anniversary of its worship space. There has actually been a congregation worshipping on the site for 360 years but the current building replaced another chapel in 1812. It has been extended and added to in the intervening years but the part in which the congregation meets every week remains. In the picture it is the red brick part on the right.

The day started at the Farmer's Market. It is British Breakfast Week so there was the bonus of free breakfasts - with donations to charity - this morning. It is an excellent market held in an old hanger. Some of the stalls cannot strictly be said to be held by farmers - pickles and bread aren't strictly farm produce - but they are interesting all the same.

At this time of year my favourite stall is the apple stall. The man who runs this grows 40 different varieties. Braeburn, Winter Wonder, Delbush and Egremont Russett to name but a few.

Such choice. Shame we don't see it in our supermarkets.
