Every day, at any time, he's there, waiting, or not far from earshot. There used to be a time when I'd call for ages, now no sooner his name leaves my lips, he's down. He's always so excited to see me - as I gather I've said many times before - & he loves being spoken too, I tell him first how beautiful he is, how handsome & how much I love him. He responds by cocking his head to the side & then stands up straight, head feathers raising & sings in audible reply. I complain about the weather. He nods. I laugh about my day so far. And he listens knowingly. Best bird!
