Technology A.K.A my new toy!
After seeing the results I could get using my mum's remote flash over Christmas, I knew I wanted one for myself. I'm impatient so I couldn't wait for my birthday in March to get it. Once I decided I definitely wanted it, that was it, I had to have it. Gone are the days of that annoying flash shadow on macros from the on camera flash unit.
For the best part of 3 years, I have been taking photos each day. Yes, some days interesting things happened, things I wanted to photograph and document. On those days I had many photos I'd have been happy to upload. Many days however I lacked motivation, I lacked commitment, I lacked the desire to take photos. I'd grab something, snap it before bed and maybe not upload for a fortnight or more (which came back to kick me when my hard drive died and camera got stolen).
This last couple of weeks though, something has changed. I got some inspiration in the form of themes to play with I've actually been excited about photography. I'm looking at the world differently, I see things I'd have never noticed or wanted to photograph before. I'm getting my blips up during the day they were taken. I'm thinking about them, planning them, being inspired to try new things. I actually want to take photos to create nice images, to push myself and learn more, not just because I need to put something up online. As soon as that image is up I'm thinking about the next, wishing I didn't just have to chose just one theme for the day, one photo.
I have a list of about 320 themes for photos and every time I look at it I'm thinking and planning and waiting for the next day and the next photo. Who knows what tomorrow will hold? Maybe I'll even start taking photos just to improve my photography.
