Lost Glasgow
LH is readin a book called 'Lost Glasgow'. It often annoys me when tourists come to Scotland and bypass Glasgow as it has incredible architecture and wonderful buildings. However, as an interested history devotee, it is mind-boggling the way generations of Glaswegians systematically destroyed the medieval city and subsequently the beautiful buildings of the 17th and 18th centuries. There are virtually none of these left. How the motorway was allowed to carve its way through the heart of the city in the 1960s, making it impossible to get good views of the Mitchell Library is beyond comprehension.
