Birds at Herrington Park
Herrington Park is on the site of an old coal heap yet now is beautiful. In the the background is a small hill that has view points on the top. Circles of metal are set in in large stones so that when you look through and they are lined up you can see Durham cathedral in one direction and Penshaw Monument in another. Each stone shows a local landmark or village. It is really worth the walk to look through.
There was a huge number of birds of many varieties, including tufted ducks, terns and Canada Geese.
