Huntingtower Castle
This may be a familiar sight to anyone who lives in Perth, but I always find it very striking. It looked lovely today in the winter sunshine.
Huntingtower Castle is an Historic Scotland property; here is some information about it from their website:
The castle was a lordly residence for 300 years, from the 15th to the 18th century. It has hosted some famous visitors, and been associated with some dramatic events. Mary Queen of Scots stayed here in 1565, during her honeymoon with Lord Darnley. In 1582, Mary's son, James VI, was held here against his will by the 1st Earl of Gowrie, in a famous episode known as the 'Ruthven Raid'.
When you visit, you have the opportunity to dress up in medieval clothes (adults too) and 'lord it' around the castle. There are great views from the top and you can even get married there. Well worth a visit!
