You Talkin' to me?

A Mallard drake... apparently! I guess if I'm going to start photographing the avians I'd best learn a little more about them!

The breeding male is unmistakable, with a bright bottle-green head, black rear end and a yellowish orange (can also contain some red) bill tipped with black (as opposed to the black/orange bill in females). It has a white collar which demarcates the head from the purple-tinged brown breast, grey brown wings, and a pale grey belly. The dark tail has white borders.

Time for the weekly faceless Mega Corporation update.

Virgin Media

Well, we're deep into the month now and I've still not had a text telling me that my mobile service will be suspended. Soooo, it looks like after three and a half months Virgin Media have solved this little glitch. Result!

Southern Electric

A wee update call tonight to let me know that they have sent out a letter to flat 2/2 but not yet had a reply. They're going to give them another week to respond before dispatching an engineer to investigate. A further update to come next Thursday!

Santander

After still not hearing from the insurers (you may recall I was to get a return call by last Friday) I phoned them back today. Progress of sorts. Apparently they took a note of my camera and lens and added it to my notes so at least I didn't have to give them the details again. After a brief "hold" to consult with a senior supervisor I was told that the system still had not been fixed and I would get a call from them when it was done. Meantime I confirmed that the items are still covered under a temporary note. I'm still deciding whether that's a result or not!
