presidents' day
today in america it is a holiday. not a very widely celebrated one, and one that only government organizations and some school districts get off. luckily i work for a city government so no work for me. the holiday is presidents' day, originally set to celebrate george washington's birthday. today we celebrated a few ways...
----
- michael, mel, and i went to trinity bikes where she bought a brand new road bike.
- then we went to woodhouse, a new tim love restaurant to check out the offerings there. slim pickings for vegetarians and the most thickheaded waiter in history, i fear.
- to make up for it we visited avoca coffee with its newly installed dude sweet chocolate storefront. a slice of stir crazy's blueberry cake with maple frosting and a chai were in order for me.
- then off to the saucer for a bit - i left soon after, had to make my bikram class with leah.
so in other words we spent the holiday supporting local business. not bad, i say.
work tomorrow again - tomorrow marks one week to panama.
